You'll have a better chance if you're female.

If I remember correctly one person has already "asked" but got rejected. I believe the admins (Chris or J) ask you for the job. And they're picky because of the roles of becoming a CL. You not only babysit the boards, but you also try out new programs, help clean the boards when attacks come up, and possibily help with coding. Although I'm not a CL so I don't know if coding is apart of the job. But being a admin of my own site, I hired mods by asking and not letting members ask me. Because it's such a big role for someone who has a high level of responsibility and trust. You can't just hand someone the job because you don't know that person well enough. You as the admin need to look at the history this person might have for the role of a moderator/cl. Can they be online 99% of the time or when you can't? Can they be trusted and trustworthy? Will they abuse their privs or role? Will they do as you ask such as pruning a topic that might cause harm to the community and the list goes on.

Just be patient. If you are worthy of a CL on this site, they the admins will ask you.

We try to keep around the same number of CL's. Blindvi touched on a lot of the responsibilities. ItsAConspiraZ's message, while amusing, is mostly untrue. We obviously want representation from both genders, but that's as far as it goes.

Well I want to become a CL. I am here enough, and I do enough babysitting here at my job in the dorms, so I think I can do babysitting here too, LOL.

sure, a shitload of us want to become cl's but honestly, I don't think they need anymore. and the comment about being more likely to succeed if you're female, I'd think that's bullshit
